Chalkola Chalk Markers Review
I’ve found these chalk markers to be really good. The chalky-ink in the pen is of a good consistency so draws really well. The Chalkola team also provided me with a chalk board to test them out on, but I’ve since invested in some black paper too!
The pens have two nib options, rounded or italic.
The chalk markers come with the rounded tip already set up, but if you pull it out and turn it around, you expose the flat tip like the one below.
The Chalkola chalk markers are easy to clean off non-porous surfaces, as well as hands and clothes (or so I’ve found anyway). They’re child safe, odour-free and oh-so fun to use!
7 Creative Uses for Chalk Markers
Chalk markers can be use for so much more than making pretty pictures, here are some ideas for how you can use yours!
1. Handwriting Practice
Make handwriting practice fun by handing the chalkboard to your child and getting them to write in their best handwriting. The colours and novelty of a chalkboard should make it fun. Also, it’s wipe clean!
2. Reading Practice
You can write words on chalk board and ask your child to read them. Then wipe off and repeat.
3. Stained Glass Window Effect
Experiment with colour and light by letting your children write and draw on the windows with their chalk markers. When the light shines through, the colour will be illuminated creating a colourful effect!
4. Spelling Tests
Shout out the word and let your child write it in chalk marker on the chalk board. Wipe it off and move onto the next one!
5. Rock Painting
Because these pens write with a thick chalky ink, they provide great coverage. This means you can decorate rocks you find on your walks. Remember to wash thew m first!
6 .Make Tea Light Holders
Wash out jam jars and decorate them with the chalk markers. Pop tea lights in them and light them when it’s dark to admire your handiwork. Remember an adult always needs to be present when there’s a flame involved.
7. Make Beautiful Pictures
Invest in some black card or paper for a backdrop to some gorgeous artwork. The dark background creates a gorgeous background for brightly coloured designs.
