Ace Detergent for the #ACEWinterRefresh Challenge

The cold weather has rolled out, and like most people, I’m packing away my summer wardrobe and getting my autumn/winter clothes out of storage. This year is a little bit different though because I’m expecting baby number 3! Some of the clothes I’ll be getting out of storage will be from over ten years ago (what can I say? I love to get value for money)!

I can’t pretend that my decade-old maternity clothes aren’t looking a little tired. The poor things have been in my loft for the past five years and are in desperate need of a refresh after all that time. That’s why I’m excited to be taking part in the #ACEWinterRefresh challenge.

Can a laundry detergent really breathe life into my winter wardrobe? I may have temporarily lost my va-va-voom, but I reckon I could still have that ta-dah moment when I step out in my autumnal attire.

Obviously it’s unreasonable to expect a pregnant woman to go searching for clothes in storage and not look at all her old baby clothes while shes there. Of course, that’s exactly what I did.

I rummaged through the bag of boys clothes (it was closest because it was packed away last). Then I peeped at my daughter’s baby clothes too. I couldn’t help myself and before I knew it, I had a tiny pile of clothes from each bag.

Where’s the harm in doing one load of baby clothes? We find out the gender next week, so we’ll probably be getting the clothes out anyway. Besides, it’s nice to reminisce.

As you can see, the ACE for Colours Powder did manage to reinvigorate those tiny tops. They look as good as new – you wouldn’t believe the pink one is ten years old and the blue one is five!

After the seeing the success on clothes made for tiny people, I washed my own maternity wear too. I couldn’t believe how fresh they looked considering they’d been through two pregnancies over ten years and spent the last five in storage!

I don’t tend to wear bright colours in the colder months, but I like deep, rich tones – the kind that fade easily and need a bit of extra care. Some detergents can be too harsh and make them lose depth of colour quickly (especially those with stain remover in them).

My autumnal maternity clothes turned out great. They came out of the wash smelling fab and looking as good as the day I bought them.

I can’t believe these clothes are 10+ years old!

I definitely got a tah-dah moment, despite my clothes being so old! I’ll be trusting ACE for Colours Powder to take on the washing challenges of my whole family. Having an active ten-year-old, a messy school-starter and a newborn on the way, I sense my future has lots of stains in it. Every mum wants to get the best value out of the clothes the buy and to keep them looking as new as possible. Stain removal and colour protection all in one product will save me plenty of time and effort!

A little bit about ACE for Colours Powder

  • Environmentally friendly – comes in a plastic-free, fully recyclable carton.
  • Gentle stain removal helps keep clothes looking clean and bright (meaning they look new for longer and last for the long haul).
  • Suitable for everyday use.
  • Great for giving your clothes one final fresh wash before storing them for the future.
  • Fab at reviving clothes that have been kept in storage (in my case, for 10+ years!)

ACE for Colours Powder is available from your Local Morrison’s store, or you can buy it online from Amazon. Why not pick up a pack so you can see what I’m raving on about? If it can revive clothes I bought in 2008, just imagine what it can do for you!
