A mums’ pamper weekend is the perfect way to unwind when life’s daily stressed begin to wear you down. As a busy mum myself, I can think of nothing better than a short break to relax, pamper myself and recharge my batteries. For me, the dream is to spend a weekend in the countryside, free of housework an responsibilities.
Obviously, I wouldn’t go alone. I’d need to rope in some other mum friends who are in as much need of a pamper as I am.

A Spa Weekend in Newmarket
I’d love to visit the Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, a luxury Newmarket spa situated right next to the famed Newmarket race course. Suffolk is far enough away from where I live to feel like a real getaway, while remaining close enough to be a reasonable distance to travel.
The spa is also a luxury Newmarket hotel too, boasting a 4-star rating for its beautiful boutique-style rooms. This makes it a perfect place to stay for all of my pampering needs.

Spa treatments I’m desperate to try
It’s been a long and tiring summer and I think it’s left me looking little rough around the edges. My muscles ache and I think my face could do with some lovely skin treatments.
Ideally, I’d love a facial to help tackle my skincare issues. I get dry patches that appear flaky when I wear makeup as well as oily patches too – it’s true combination skin. I’ve been reading about ESPA facials and how the Optimal Skin ProFacial would be a great fit for my needs. It seems to be a facial tailored to the individual that ends with a nutrient-rich hydration treatment. It sounds perfect!
A massage is also a must (did I mention how much I ache?). I’ve always fancied a hot stone massage to relax my muscles on a deeper level and relieve all my tension.

I’d definitely get a manicure, since I wouldn’t have to do any housework during my weekend away. I love getting my nails done, but when I’m at home, it never lasts long because I’m constantly cleaning up.
Newmarket Races
I’d be very tempted to rope my mum friends into combining out spa weekend with a day at the races. I love the opportunity to get dolled up, and those opportunities are few and far between these days. I’ve never actually been to the races but feel really envious when my friends tell me all about their visits.
If I time it right, I might be able to get my makeup done at the spa before spending the day at the races, so I look flawless and feel a million dollars.
Staying in the hotel right by the races also solves the problem of getting home after a few glasses of fizz. No designated driver needed!
It seems like I’ve got a very thorough plan for my pamper weekend in Suffolk – I’d better make some calls and enlist my friends to join me! I can’t wait!
