I received a complementary VoxBox from Influenster UK containing the items in this blog post. This was for the purpose of trying the products and the blog post itself was not a requirement of the gift. All opinions are my own.
I’m a lipstick hoarder and I can never have enough. I probably own enough to wear a different one every day! When I received a Max Factor VoxBox from Influenster containing so more lip treats I was so excited.
I received a neutral lip liner pencil, some honey lacquer lip gloss and some colour elixir lipstick.
Despite my well documented beauty addiction, I didn’t know you could get a neutral lip liner. What a revelation! This is exactly what my life had been missing!
The lip liner glides on smoothly and completely transparent. It gives nothing away, it behaves like a well-kept beauty secret should. I tried it with a variety of lip products and it helped give a perfect frame to my lips, there were no colour bleeds and prevented a smudgey edge too.
I tried the honey lacquer first (in shade Honey Nude) as it seemed the perfect nude colour for a hot summer’s day. I wasn’t wearing foundation and my over all look was laid-back, so I wasn’t in the mood for a metallic-bright.
The scent is amazing, it smell like honey! So sweet! It glides on easily, with no drips or smearing. I love the colour,I think it’s really neutral and would suit most skin tones. I have quite a pale complexion so not every nude shade suits me (I know, it sounds daft).
It was a couple of days later that I was ready to try the colour elixir lipstick. The shade is a bold metallic berry shade called ‘Mulberry’. I was feeling pretty tropical in my bright summer dress and bouncy curls so I thought this colour would jazz things up even more!
I love how easy it is to apply. It’s so smooth and hydrating! It doesn’t feel too dry (or the other extreme – too greasy) but the colour lasts well. I used the neutral lip liner again too. I think the two very different colours I used with the lip liner are a testament to just how neutral it is. I love the metallic look of this lippie and it’s probably the most moisturising lip stick I’ve ever tried. It feels more like a balm than a lipstick. It definitely lives up to the elixir name!
