Little Greggles won’t eat off a spoon. He hasn’t for months and it’s been so hard to try and find suitable and varied things to feed him that he can also pick up himself. This was especially difficult back when he only had two teeth.
At the minute he’s living a life I’m jealous of, where he has a toasted hot cross bun for breakfast most days and often has crushed avocado on toast. His favourite food is beans on toast too. Are you spotting the pattern? My baby wants everything to be toasted if its toastable and on top of the toast if it’s not!
Also he has specific rules surrounding his eating. He has to have kids TV on, or he throws his meal on the floor in fistfuls. He’s always delighted to receive his meal (excuse the poor picture quality).
This doesn’t last that long though. If he becomes too self aware, off his dinner goes, over the highchair edge. Note the ferocious blur of his hands rejecting my meal!
So I’m running out of ideas. Don’t get me wrong, he does have veggies and pasta and tiny bits of meat (and tuna for the first time last week) but it’s so hard to think of things for him to have. As I’m sure you’ll see by his cheeks, he’s not exactly starving, so he’s getting plenty of nutrition!
So as he rapidly approaches one (on Friday, wahhh, where did the time go?!) the mealtime battle continues and I brainstorm for more and more things I can toast or put on toast!
