Being a blogger is great because you make loads of other blogger friends. It’s fab to know so many wonderful and entertaining writers and get a bit of insight into their lives. Blogger tags help coax these little morsels of information out of our favourite bloggers and I think they’re fab.
I’ve been tagged in ‘The Christmas Tag’ by White Camellias and Raising Moonbows (check these blogs out, I think you’ll love them). I feel the name gives it away somewhat so I won’t explain the premise, I’ll just dive right in!
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
I haven’t really seen many, not even Home Alone! Does Love Actually count? I’ve seen that and I liked it.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I remember there once being a dusting on Christmas day and as a child I counted that as a white Christmas
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home with the family.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
I’m not dead bothered about Christmas songs (sorry), I have a massive soft spot for Wham! – Last Christmas, but otherwise I’m not sure. I quite like The Pogues but I feel the words are too insulting (to one another, I’m not offended or anything!) so I don’t think it’s in the true spirit of Christmas. Although I will still happily belt out “you’re an old slut on junk!”
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Me and Accidental Hipster Dad do our exchange on Christmas Eve so that we can have a little bit of Christmas without the kids.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Nope. Not even gonna try.
This one probably can though, she’s pretty festive.
Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I don’t have any family exclusive traditions so I’ll tell you what I’m just looking forward to most, which is seeing the kids open their gifts. Greg is old enough to sort of get what’s going on now, so that’s pretty exciting!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake! I can’t cope with the maintenance of a real one.
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
Big fan of mince pies, although both times I’ve been pregnant I’ve craved Christmas pudding!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Equal. I really, really like to give (I’m terrible, once I’ve bought it, I’ll try and give it to you straight away because I can’t contain my excitement) but who doesn’t love getting gifts?
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
When I was 7 I got a SNES and that was pretty special. Last year I got engaged on Christmas Eve so I probably have to say that don’t I? I don’t know if that was a Christmas present or a separate proposal though. If the engagement doesn’t count then I’m going with the SNES.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Somewhere snowy and festive. (I’m really TERRIBLE at geography, to the point it makes me look like I might be insane. I’m not going to name a specific destination, let’s just leave it at that!)
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I start off fantastically but when I begin to flag I don’t put as much effort in.
Most memorable Christmas moment?
Has to be getting engaged!
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
My mum just outright asking me what I wanted her to buy for Christmas sort of confirmed my suspicions. I had always wondered how he got round the world in one night, but different timezones neatly explained it!
What makes the holidays special for you?
Family. Without a doubt.
I feel all warm and fuzzy now that I’ve been made to think about all things Christmassy! Now It’s my turn to nominate and I choose Mama Ain’t Raisin’ No Fools in an attempt to force her to update.
