Bedside lamps can add the finishing touch to a stylish bedroom, as well as adding the functionality of being a light that can be turned off from your bed! I’ve handpicked this selection of versatile bedside lamps and table lamps to fit in with any interior styling – and they don’t just have to stay in the bedroom!
Bedside Lamps & Table Lamps: What’s The Difference?
Bedside lamps tend to be a little daintier than desk lamps. Traditionally, bedside tables are smaller surfaces than desks and sideboards, so they usually made with a more compact base. These days, I don’t think it matters too much. If you’re like me and spend a lot of time swooning over other people’s interiors on Instagram, you’ll have spotted some clear flouting of those old-school rules!
The lamps I’ve chosen to share with you from Cox & Cox will look just as good by your bed as they would on your sideboard. Welcome to a new age of interior styling!
The minimalist
A clear glass base positioned on a surface without clutter will turn the head of any minimalist. The design is simple, yet stylish and can help a room feel light and airy when the table lamp is on. If you’re going to put it by your bed, maybe pair with a small vase containing a tiny sprig of wild flowers. Spring is in the air after all!
The hipster home
Retro styling with a modern twist can really make a house feel more like a home. If your interior style is hipster chic, it’s likely you have an eclectic collection of vintage inspired furniture, with patterns and textures galore! I’m fond of the pattern at this lamp’s base in the picture shown. At first glance, it looks 70’s inspired, but under closer inspection, the geometric print is far to now to be from then.
The Traditionalist
For those who prefer a traditional style, this lamp is perfect. It’s even got a daintier base like the traditional bedside lamps. It wouldn’t look out of place on a mahogany desk, and it would fit right in on a regular bedside table. It’s versatile in looks and neat enough to be moved from room to room without causing worry about its size.
The trend lover
Soft greys, natural textures and earth tones are the look du jour with interiors. I consider decorating my bedroom grey on a daily basis, the only thing stopping me is the time it would take. This lamp is an aesthetically pleasing rounded pebble shape in the base, with a rustic-looking linen lamp shade. If your house in on trend, this lamp will fit right in.
The trendsetter
With minimalism and greyscale being so in demand, patterns and bold designs have felt like they’ve been out way too long. Stripes, textures and bold colours are on their way back in – and the trendsetters know it! They’re poised and ready to go because they love to be the first to do it. If you’re a trendsetter, you’ll love the texture and design to this table lamp and be desperate to snap it up before your friends do!
