August Lust List

You may remember my recent post about how I had changed my attitude towards choosing my clothes after a brief period of falling out of love with fashion. Thankfully that period quickly passed and my new motto about making sure I was in love with what I wore stimulated my love of clothes again.

It’s the time of year when my student finance is in sight and I start compiling a list of the clothes I’m lusting after:

Embellished Maxi Dress

This is by far my favourite and at the top of ‘to buy’ list. As of yet I have nowhere to wear it, but I’m sure I’ll find somewhere once it’s in my wardrobe! It’s absolutely gorgeous and looks like something Daisy Buchanan would be proud to own. What impresses me the most is that it doesn’t discriminate with size and is available in up to a UK 32. The curve of the bodice and the flair of the skirt is flattering to all shapes and help create a much coveted hourglass silhouette.

I love maxi dresses, they’re my summer wardrobe staple, and because we can’t all dress like extras from The Great Gatsby it’s probably a good idea to look for some more versatile styles too. I would feel comfortable wearing this dress to a friend’s barbecue on a sunny day and think it would easily transition to party wear if the evening ended in a night on the town. Bright colours on a contrasting black backdrop make the dress eye catching and effortlessly stylish. Big prints and bright coloured dresses make for great summer wear because they’re the easiest look to pull off from daytime lounging to nighttime bar hopping, you’ll never look out of place.

It won’t be summer forever (boooooo) and I probably shouldn’t be spending my money as if it will. This vintage inspired shirt dress is perfect for seasonal transitions. The large floral design is great for a summery afternoon tea on the terrace, but the colours used are just autumnal enough to justify wearing it in October with black tights and a cropped cardigan to really own the vintage style.

Van Dal Ankle Boots

Where would a fashion round-up post even be if it didn’t include shoes? With autumn in mind (it’s on the way, people) I’ve got boots on the brain. These little lovelies add a flash of glitz to any outfit without being too dazzling and in-your-face. The heel doesn’t venture into dizzying heights which makes then suitable for work, and you’d surely get away with the gilt heel in even the most sober of dress codes. Since I’ve recently become a lady of leisure (student, actually), I’ll be teaming these with skinny jeans or perhaps a skirt and tights.

Sole Diva Heeled Ankle Boots

The last item on my lust list is footwear again. I’m in love with these but they’re in the sale and will surely sell out fast, if that’s the case when I come to buy everything, there’s still plenty more to choose from. These boots are right up my street and come in a wide fit, which means I won’t be hobbling around after wearing them all day. I’m also pretty confident I can pull these off with some tweed shorts and black tights once the temperature drops.

Sharing is caring!

I realised I could d shirt dresses if I just wore a cami underneath. Also, after having Greg they seems to be a flattering cut! x
